Trisodium phosphate (TSP)
Chemical form: Na3PO4 or Na3PO4·nH2O (n stands for number of crystalline waters, typically 0 to 12 crystalline waters)
Appearance: colorless to white acicular crystal or crystalline powder, odorless and tasteless
Melting point: the melting point of anhydrous substance is 1340ºC, and the melting point of dodecahydrate is 73.4ºC
Density: The density of anhydrous matter is 1.62g/cm³
pH: The pH of 1% aqueous solution is between 11.5 and 12.1
Solubility: Easily soluble in water.
Stability: Easily deliqued and weathered in dry air to generate sodium dihydrogen phosphate and sodium bicarbonate.
Acid-alkaline: Its aqueous solution is strongly alkaline.
