Liquid polyaluminium chloride is a light yellow or colorless transparent liquid, though the actual color may vary depending on impurities and basicity levels, with common variations including tan, gray-black, and gray-white. The color of solid polyaluminium chloride is similar to that of the liquid form. Its physical state changes with basicity: when the basicity is below 30%, it appears as crystals; when exceeding 60%, it gradually transforms into a vitreous or resinous texture.
