It exhibits good solubility in water. In a dry atmospheric condition, it remains stable. Nevertheless, in a humid environment, it undergoes gradual decomposition, releasing carbon dioxide.

Application

 

Used in the production of fire extinguishing agents (such as serving as a carbon dioxide generator in foam fire extinguishers), detergents (such as wool cleaning agents), and printing and dyeing auxiliaries (for adjusting the pH value of the dye bath).

 

Used as a quenching agent or cooling medium in metal heat treatment to adjust the acidity and alkalinity of the process environment.
Used in ore processing (such as ore dressing flotation), to improve the mineral separation efficiency by adjusting the pH value of the ore pulp.
Used as a flux in the smelting industry to help remove impurities or reduce the melting temperature.

 

As a foaming agent in the rubber industry, it decomposes upon heating during rubber processing to produce carbon dioxide, creating a porous structure in rubber products (such as sponge rubber).
