Hydrated lime, chemically known as calcium hydroxide, appears as a white powdery solid. It is made from quicklime (calcium oxide) by a hydration reaction, which releases a lot of heat. Hydrated lime has certain solubility, slightly soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is clarified lime water.
