Magnesia mainly refers to magnesite and other magnesia raw materials formed after high temperature calcination with magnesium oxide (MgO) as the main component of refractory materials. Its magnesium oxide content is high, and the magnesium oxide content in general industrial magnesia can reach about 80%-98%. In addition to magnesium oxide, it may also contain a small amount of calcium oxide (CaO), silicon dioxide (SIO₂), iron trioxide (Fe₂O₃) and other impurities. The content of these impurities will vary depending on the raw material source and production process of magnesia.
