Appearance: White powder or crystalline solid, odorless and tasteless.

Solubility: Slightly soluble in water, solubility slightly increases with temperature. Easy to dissolve in acid and ammonium salt solutions, insoluble in alcohols.

Density: 2.34-2.40 g/cm ³ (depending on the specific product form).

Melting point: It begins to decompose at around 350 ºC and completely decomposes into magnesium oxide and water above 400 ºC.
