Sodium thiosulfate usually appears as colorless transparent crystals or white crystalline powder, soluble in water and hygroscopic. Its molecular formula is NA2S203.5H2O, with a density of 1.667g/cm ³ (anhydrous) or 1.729g/cm ³ (pentahydrate salt). In the aqueous solution of baking soda, there are usually five crystal waters (NA2S203.5H2O), which will weather and lose their crystal waters in dry air above 33 ºC
