Ferrous sulfate monohydrate is highly soluble in water (1g/1.5ml at 25ºC or 1g/0.5ml in boiling water) and insoluble in ethanol. It has reducing properties.

Application

 Water Treatment:
• As a flocculant: Used to remove suspended solids, phosphorus, heavy metal ions, etc., from water. It is particularly suitable for the treatment of textile and electroplating wastewater.
• Decolorization and COD reduction: Ferrous sulfate monohydrate has good decolorization capabilities in water treatment and can effectively reduce chemical oxygen demand (COD).

 Agriculture:
• Soil pH adjustment: Used to regulate soil acidity and alkalinity, promote chlorophyll formation, and prevent chlorosis caused by iron deficiency in plants.
• Pesticide use: Applied to control diseases such as wheat black smut, apple and pear scab, and fruit tree canker.• Fertilizer application: Used to remove moss and lichen from tree trunks.
