2. Production
It is commonly produced through the reaction of NH3 and hydrogen chloride (HCl). This can occur in both gas - phase and solution - phase reactions. In industrial settings, these reactions are carefully controlled to ensure high-quality production.

3. Physical Properties
It has a relatively high melting point of around 338 °C (decomposes). It sublimes when heated, turning directly from a solid to a gas without passing through the liquid state. This property is useful in some separation and purification processes.

4. Chemical Reactivity
Ammonium chloride is a salt of a weak base (NH3) and a strong acid (HCl). It hydrolyzes in water, making the solution slightly acidic. It can react with various substances, such as alkalis, to produce a mmonia gas.
