Character:  It's colorless prismatic or needle-shaped crystal. It's odorless. It tastes cool, salty and bitter. Relative density is 2.65. It's steady in damp air under 48ºC. When it is in warm and hot air, it is easily effloresce. It is easily soluble in water (119.8%, 20ºC) and glycerine, slightly soluble in ethanol. The aqueous solution is neutral.

1. In the leather manufacturing industry, magnesium sulfate functions as a filling and reinforcing agent, which is beneficial for enhancing heat resistance.
2. For printing and dyeing processes, magnesium sulfate can serve as a fabric dyeing agent, a weighting substance, and a mordant. It guarantees uniform dyeing and maintains a pH level between 6 and 7.
3. When it comes to the application of fireproof materials, magnesium sulfate acts as a flame retardant for plastics like acrylic resin.
4. In the paper-making field, magnesium sulfate is employed as a synthetic additive for ABS and PVC resins.
5. In the domain of organic chemicals, magnesium sulfate can be utilized as a desiccant and a dehydrating agent. It is applied in the printing and dyeing of thin cotton cloth and silk. Additionally, it is a weighting agent for cotton and silk and a filler for kapok products.
6. In the electroplating sector, magnesium sulfate is used as a conductive salt to enhance the conductivity of the plating solution and to make the coating appear white and soft. In aluminum smelting, magnesium sulfate is used as an additive to color the surface of aluminum.
