As a consequence, the processing properties of the dough are notably improved.
During the storage of certain pickled items like pickled vegetables and salted fish, placing a small quantity of anhydrous sodium sulfate near the storage container serves a useful purpose. Anhydrous sodium sulfate is hygroscopic, effectively reducing the humidity in the surrounding environment. With lower humidity, conditions become less favorable for microorganism growth. As a result, the growth of these microorganisms is inhibited, which in turn helps to extend the freshness duration of the pickled foods, ensuring they remain in better condition for a longer time.
