Product Description

Magnesia, also known as sintered magnesia, is made of magnesite, water magnesite or magnesium hydroxide obtained through the reaction of seawater and lime milk by high temperature calcination.
Classification: Mainly sintered magnesia, light burnt magnesia, fused magnesia three categories.
Main composition: Magnesium oxide (MgO), the mineral composition is magnesite, but also contains CaO, SiO₂, Fe₂O₃ and other impurities.
Appearance: pure magnesite colorless, with the increase of FeO, CaO content, color from light to dark, yellow, brown, black brown.
Density: 3.56-3.65g/cm³.
Mohs Hardness: 5.5.
Melting point: 2800ºC, volatilization at 1800-2400ºC.

Application

Refractory
1) Steelmaking: Magnesium brick used to make the lining of steelmaking furnace can resist the erosion of molten steel and slag, and extend the life of the furnace body.
2) Non-ferrous metal smelting: as a smelting furnace lining material, adapt to high temperature and resist the corrosion of molten metal and slag.
3) Glass industry: manufacture glass kiln refractory bricks to withstand high temperature and prevent glass liquefaction erosion.
4) Cement industry: rotary kiln high temperature zone use, withstand high temperature and alkaline environment.

Building material
1) cementation material: lightly burned magnesia is mixed with magnesium chloride solution to make magnesite products, such as magnesite board used in building partition wall and ceiling.
2) Thermal insulation materials: thermal insulation materials for manufacturing industrial pipes, boilers and other equipment.

Chemical industry
1) Catalyst carrier: by virtue of large specific surface area and chemical stability, supporting catalyst can improve chemical reaction activity.
