Appearance characteristics of brown hexahydrate magnesium chloride:
• Color: It usually appears brown. This color may be due to the presence of some impurities in the product or the influence of certain factors during the production process.
• Form: It is generally a crystalline solid, which may be in the form of flakes, granules or powder. The crystalline form is relatively regular and has a certain luster.
• Solubility: It is easily soluble in water and ethanol, and the solution after dissolution is colorless or slightly yellow. The solubility in water is high and increases with the rise of temperature.
• Hygroscopicity: It has strong hygroscopicity and is prone to deliquescence in a humid environment.
• Stability: It is relatively stable at room temperature, but will dehydrate and decompose when encountering high temperature. At about 118ºC, it releases HCl gas and turns into a chloro-oxide compound. When heated at high temperature, it decomposes into MgO and HCl.
