Calcium chloride dihydrate (chemical formula: CaCl₂·2H₂O) is a common inorganic salt with extensive industrial and civilian applications. It is a white crystalline solid that typically exists in the form of granules or powder, and it has a high solubility, especially in water, where it can rapidly form a clear solution. Due to its unique physical and chemical properties, calcium chloride dihydrate plays an important role in a variety of fields.
(I) Physical Properties
• Appearance: White crystalline granules or powder, high purity, free of impurities.
• Solubility: Extremely soluble in water, with a solubility of up to 1000 g/L at 20°C, forming a clear and transparent solution.
• Melting Point: Approximately 30°C, with a low melting point, making it convenient for application in various processes.
• Boiling Point: 100°C (760 mmHg), easily evaporated under normal pressure, suitable for applications requiring rapid drying or evaporation.

(II) Chemical Properties
• Stability: Chemically stable, does not decompose easily at room temperature, and is compatible with most substances. However, reactions with certain organic compounds  should be noted.
• Acidity/Alkalinity: The aqueous solution is neutral or weakly acidic, with a pH range of 4.5-8.5 (50 g/L, 20°C), environmentally friendly and less corrosive to equipment.
