Sodium thiosulfate can be used for tanning leather and extracting silver from ore. It can be used to removechlorine from tap water and is widely used in aquaculture. It is clinically used to treat skin pruritus, urticaria, drug rash, cyanide, thallium poisoning andarsenic poisoning by intravenous injection.
