Liquid polyaluminium chloride appears as a light - yellow or colorless transparent liquid. However, its actual color can vary depending on impurities and basicity levels. There are various hues such as tan, gray - black, and gray - white.
The color of solid polyaluminium chloride is comparable to that of the liquid form. Moreover, its physical form is influenced by the basicity. When the basicity is less than 30%, it takes on a crystalline structure. Conversely, when the basicity exceeds 60%, it gradually transforms into a vitreous or resinous state.
