It decomposes above 280°C. Its solubility in water is 70.6 g at 0°C and 103.8 g at 100°C. It is insoluble in ethanol. The pH of a 0.1 mol/L aqueous solution is 5.5. Its relative density is 1.77, and its refractive index is 1.521. Ammonium sulfate is mainly used as a fertilizer, suitable for all types of soils and crops. It is also used in textiles, leather, pharmaceuticals, and other fields.
