Product Description

Aluminum sulfate , also known as alum, is an inorganic compound widely used across various industries.
• Chemical Formula: Al₂(SO₄)₃
• Appearance: Aluminum sulfate is available in two forms: anhydrous and the 18-hydrateThe 18-hydrate form typically crystallizes from aqueous solutions at room temperature  It is usually produced in flake form and can be further processed into a powder. When it loses water of crystallization through weathering, it transforms from the 18-hydrate to the 14-hydrate (Al₂(SO₄)₃·14H₂O), which appears as a white powder or as glistening flake or crystalline thin sheets. It is odorless and has a taste that shifts from sweet to slightly astringent.
• Solubility: Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol.
• Melting Point: 770°C.
• Density: 1.69 g/cm³.
• Properties of Aqueous Solution: The aqueous solution is acidic and hydrolyzes to form aluminum hydroxide.
Safety
